Unemployment falls by 8,000 to 2.47million
The UK unemployment rate has fallen by 8,000 to 2.47million. Good News! This means that the overall percentage remains steady at 7.8%...
But for how long?
Although unemployment has fallen the number of people out of work and claiming unemployment benefits has also risen by 2,300 to 1.47million suggesting that the increase is not resultant of those unemployed gaining employment but due to new entrants to the job market such as the increasing number of graduates.
The question now is whether these numbers can be maintained with the governments impending spending cuts?
